Exceptional women recognized at Baldwin Wallace University's 125th White Rose Ceremony
The White Rose Ceremony is held annually in memory of Philura Gould Baldwin, granddaughter of BW founder John Baldwin and BW's first librarian. An oration is given and select female graduates carry white roses in memory of Philura whose life was cut short by tuberculosis at age 26. While no criteria must be met, each woman must have distinguished herself by making a difference in the BW community.

BW students spend winter break volunteering in San Antonio
Thirty-six compassionate Baldwin Wallace University students made a difference by volunteering at diverse destinations during 2018 winter break. The BW Alternative Break service program gives students the opportunity to spend their breaks helping others. Each experience is led by a BW student with support from a University faculty or staff adviser. Student volunteers traveled to San Antonio, Chicago, Washington, Seattle and Portland, Oregon.

The following students have been named to the Dean's List for the fall 2018 semester at Baldwin Wallace University according to Provost Stephen D. Stahl. Any full-time student who achieves a GPA of at least 3.6 for 12 or more graded hours or part-time student who achieves a GPA of at least 3.6 for six or more graded hours in the fall or spring semester will be placed on the Dean's List.

Five BW students gave up celebrating with loved ones to dedicate their Thanksgiving break to service on an alternative break experience focused on changing the negative stigma behind homelessness. The BW Alternative Break service program gives students the opportunity to spend their breaks helping others. Each experience is led by a BW student with support from a University faculty or staff adviser.

More than 600 students earned endowed scholarships at Baldwin Wallace University this fall. BW has a long history of endowed scholarship support from alumni, faculty, trustees and friends. Over 400 named scholarships provide in excess of $3 million to help students attend, persist and graduate from BW. Endowed scholarships vary in their requirements with many specifying financial need, a course of study, involvement on campus or a commitment to excellence in a particular field.

Baldwin Wallace University students 'Discover the Dominican Republic'
Eighteen BW students participated in the "Discover the Dominican Republic" study abroad program, a transformative two-week experience focusing on food and nutrition in the Dominican Republic, during the spring 2018 semester. The program provides insight into not only food and nutrition in the Dominican Republic, but also Dominican-Haitian relations, history and culture through guest lectures and living with Dominican host families.

BW students spend summer break 2017 volunteering in Cleveland
Three diverse cities, 27 compassionate Baldwin Wallace University students and one short summer break week added up to a world of difference. The BW Alternative Break service program gives students the opportunity to spend their breaks helping others. The summer 2017 student volunteers traveled to Cleveland, Minneapolis and Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park in Michigan. Each journey was led by a BW student with support from a University faculty or staff adviser.

Baldwin Wallace University awards merit scholarships to accomplished first-year students
More than 400 first-year students welcomed to the Baldwin Wallace University campus this fall earned $5.2 million dollars in merit scholarships for their outstanding high school achievements. BW grants a wide range of scholarships to current students each year. Including merit and need-based scholarships, BW students received over $41 million in financial support from the University for the 2016-2017 academic year.

BW's Voices of Praise Gospel Choir tours Chicago
The Voices of Praise Gospel Choir spent 2016 Spring Break week making appearances at churches, schools and organizations in Chicago from small audiences to live broadcasts. Highlights of the trip included performances at Rainbow Push Coalition with Rev. Jesse Jackson, at Fellowship Chicago with Charles Jenkins and at Greater Love Missionary Baptist Church.

Local Students Receive Degrees at Miami University Fall Commencement
Miami University awarded 932 degrees to students during fall commencement exercises Friday, Dec. 11, 2015, in Millett Hall. Miami University is a public university located in southwestern Ohio, offering more than 100 degree programs in humanities, science, engineering, business, education and fine arts. Students with more than one listing have earned additional degrees or honors.

Students staging "Angels In America" at Baldwin Wallace University earn great reviews
A talented cast and crew from Baldwin Wallace University staged "Angels In America, Part One: Millennium Approaches" during the 2015 fall semester. The play, written by Tony Kushner, has won numerous honors as well as being hailed as "one of the most important pieces of theatre to come out of the 20th century." Under Scott Plate's direction, Rave and Pan called several moments "emotionally shattering" and noted that the production "shows that it ain't just the singers who are the stars in Berea.
